Data Debrief: Gakpo corresponds to Dutch greats

Due to the double here, Gakpo only became the third Dutch player who scored in five consecutive Premier League home competitions, in the footsteps of Ruud van Nistelrooy (August 2003) and Robin van Persie (twice in March 2012 and January 2013).

Already eight league goals this season means that Gakpo has now matched its competition score for 2023/2024, just over half the current season. These figures continue the theme of players who crush targets at the beginning of 2025 under the leadership of Slot.

Luis Diaz is also on eight goals, a reflection of his own competition total of last season, in which Salah is now catching up with his goal (19 league goals compared to 18) in the period 2023-24.
