Sir David Beckham was a pitchside for Inter Miami's Club World Cup opener only 24 hours after receiving his long-awaited knighthood.
On Friday, the former captain of England was recognized for his services to sports and charity as part of the birthday of the king's birthday.
Beckham then returned to the United States on time for the collision of Inter Miami with the Egyptian side Al Ahly who marked the start of the renewed tournament.
Although they had several football legends, including Lionel Messi, available, Miami was consistently frustrated by their opposition and she could not break the impasse in the Hard Rock Stadium.
Messi came closest to the stopping time with an ambitious attack from outside the penalty box, but Al Ahly held when the game ended.
In the meantime, Beckham could be seen with his former Real Madrid teammate Ronaldo in the stands.
Prior to the competition, the new Knighted Beckham jokes was asked if he had had time to update his passport to give the honor again.
“No, certainly not that I didn't do,” said Beckham on Dazn.
“It has been an emotional week that I have to admit. For me and for my family. It is clearly very special.
“It's a huge honor, but one that is shared with myself and my family and so it's emotional.”
The honor had long been done for the former Midfielder of Manchester United and he was previously planned to receive the prize in 2014.
On that occasion, however, a 'red flag' with its taxes ultimately the prize that was awarded to Beckham was reportedly furious.
E -mails who leaked at the time suggested that he had saved the Nominations Committee as 'non -valuing C *** s' and their decision 'a shame, to be honest', although his office then insisted that they had been processed by a hacker.
