Everton boss David Moyes remained satisfied after a 2-2 draw with Manchester United in their previous season in Atlanta.
The first half of Iliman Ndiaye has canceled an early fine from Bruno Fernandes for United. Mason Mount hit the Red Devils back in the lead during the second half, but a leaves his own goal for Everton.
Moyes later said to Evertontv: “I am more satisfied with tonight's game than with the other games because we have something of it.
“But it was not so much the result, it was more that the performance was much encouraging. And look, to be honest, we were probably not ready in the first two games with regard to players that were suitable for the games.
“But we knew that tonight we were a bit closer to something that looked like an Everton team. We didn't really watch the other games like that. So, yes, much happier tonight.”
Insure our best at night
Moyes admitted that he was impressed by James Garner's performance against his former club.
“I thought Jimmy was probably our best player in many ways,” the manager added. “I thought he grew in the game, even when the game continued and continued.
“There are a few who have had 90 minutes, there are some who have not had 90 minutes. Some have had to play more 90s than we would like due to the lack of depth that we currently have in the team.
“But no, I am really satisfied. I thought Jimmy certainly had his best game and it was a bit more on the Jimmy I know tonight.”
