Bayern Munich has confirmed that Alphonso Davies has signed a new long -term contract with the club.
Davies, who came to the Bundesliga side of the Whitecaps of Vancouver in 2019, has put pen on paper on new terms that will hold him at Vincent Kompany until 2030.
The previous deal of the Canada International would end in June, with reports that suggested that a free transfer to Real Madrid was on the cards in the summer.
But he has chosen to stay in Munich until the end of the 2029-30 campaign and would reach his stay there for 11 years if he plays his new contract.
This season Davies made 25 performances in all competitions for Bayern, scored once and offers three assists.
In the Bundesliga this period, only Michael Olise (41) and Jamal Musiala (47) have completed more dribbles than Davies (29).
“I am very happy that I have expanded my contract with this great club,” Davies said in a club statement.
“I came to FC Bayern when I was 18 and just wanted to learn as much as possible every day to become one of the best in my position.
“Now I am looking forward to another five years together. I have already achieved a lot here, but more is coming.”

During his time in the Allianz Arena, Davies won 13 major awards, including five top-flight titles and one Champions League trophy in 2019-200019.
The news comes 24 hours after veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer had signed a new one-year-old deal to take him to 15 seasons with the 33-Keer Bundesliga champions.
Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sane and Thomas Muller also see their respective contracts expired at the end of the season, while there are also questions about the future of Jamal Musiala, with his deal that will end next year.
