De Bruyne’s representatives ‘hold talks with Napoli’

The representatives of Kevin De Bruyne reportedly held the first conversations with Serie A -Leaders Napoli during a free transfer this summer.

De Bruyne will be a free agent at the end of the season when his contract in Manchester City ends.

The 33-year-old revealed last month that the director of Football of Man City, Txiki Begiristain and CEO, Ferran Soriano, had informed him that his contract would not be extended.

According to The Times, Napoli already has contact with the representatives of De Bruyne in the summer.

Napoli is assured of a place in next season's Champions League and is in line with the Serie A title.

The side of Antonio Conte is three points ahead of Champions League finalists Inter Milan, with only three rounds of competitions that have been left this season.

Napoli is said to be hopefully the friendship of De Bruyne with colleague Belgian International Romelu Lukaku can help to convince the midfielder to join the club.

Lukaku is the joint top scorer of Napoli this season and has scored 12 times in all competitions.

De Bruyne has expressed his wish to continue to compete at the highest level and will consider what is best for his family.

“To be honest, I still think that I can perform at this level as I show, but I understand that clubs have to make decisions,” De Bruyne said last month.

'I am open to everything (next) because I have to look at the whole picture. I look at sporting reasons, family and everything together and what is the most logical for me and my family.

“I still have the feeling that I can play at a good level, but after I have to make a decision if I really know a little more.”

According to Sky Sports, Aston Villa is one of the Premier League parties who have asked for a movement.

De Bruyne is also linked to a move to the MLS, where Chicago Fire has the priority option for the star.

The 33-year-old is also deemed to be interested in the Saudi Pro League.

Despite this season, suffering from injuries, De Bruyne has made 36 performances in all competitions for Man City, to score six goals and offer eight assists.

During his time in Man City, De Bruyne won six Premier League titles, the Champions League and Five League Cups.

He was able to unsubscribe from the club with a third FA Cup with Man City opposite Crystal Palace in the final on 17 May.
