Decision on Barca’s Olmo registration dispute with La Liga expected imminently

In January, Barcelona insured a precautionary measure to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, but it could soon stand out if the authority's body that has granted this has now announced that a definitive decision about their current investigation will be made in the very near future.

It was the Higher Sports Council (CSD) that granted Barcelona's request to temporarily register Olmo and Victor, which was strongly criticized by La Liga and a number of clubs in Spain. And since that date they have assessed the case with a view to taking a final decision to remove the precautionary measure.

And now the president of the Higher Sports Council, Jose Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, has confirmed that a final decision will be taken very soon, with a deadline of 7 April, according to MD.

Uribes also spoke about the criticism that the Higher Sports Council received for providing a precautionary measure, and during this he thanked Real Madrid for their response, which comes in the midst of reports that Florentino Perez played a role in Barcelona who could successfully register Olmo and Victor.

“Football is sometimes very fun, they bring up curious things. Real Madrid seems to be pleased with Dani Olmo, according to some versions, this is the world upside down, but good, what Real Madrid did, was the decision of the CSD and I appreciate it very much, not only Real Madrid, but 80% of the club.

“What has been here is a discrepancy, a disagreement, a conflict, call it what you want, between FC Barcelona, La Liga and the Federation and we as the Higher Sports Council feel obliged, in accordance with the sports legislation that says athletes should always be protected, to ensure that the players do not harm this conflict.”
