Deeney says Ferdinand is ‘nonsense’ for predicting Utd’d win just 1 more PL game

Troy Deeney has colored back in Rio Ferdinand for his 'nonsense' forecast that Manchester United will only win one of their last Premier League matches.

Ferdinand expressed his concern about his former club while retaining their top status after their 12th defeat of the campaign in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

The men of Ruben Amorim fell to 15th place in the Premier League table after James Maddison scored the only goal in the 1-0 defeat of United by Spurs.

With 29 points after 25 games, and 31 points behind leaders Liverpool, the Red Devils are now only two places above the relegation zone, which are close to West Ham and Wolves.

During his podcast on his YouTube channel, Ferdinand shared his worries about a potential drop in shock to the championship and predicted that the Red Devils will only win one of their last remaining competition matches.

The assessment of Ferdinand, however, was dropped by Deeney, who suggested that the former center back was only fishing on clicking.

“I have just seen our producer because he knows that I am going to the city,” he started on talks. “He is already trying to get me on the click.

“I think Rio is nonsense about this situation. I think he is trying to say that how they are playing at the moment, they can't really win anything. I just think this is still man United, they will bring it together.

'If you look at the games they still have to play; Everton this weekend, I find them in that game. Ipswich, I find them in that game. Arsenal, they have already shown that they can produce a result against them.

'They will also beat Leicester. Forest and Man City are clearly difficult, but they have also defeated the city. They are going to defeat wolves.

'And they will beat West Ham, so there are already four. I just think it is with Rio it is to try to transmit it, but that is not necessary.

'I have seen him play games where he criticizes arsenal, but the next day he does not do the game of that man because he does not want to criticize them too much. Enjoy the podcast, but not that. '

Host Jeff Stelling then claimed that Ferdinand might only have shared the opinion to attract listeners to his podcast.

His cutting words followed Ferdinand's claim that Amorim's side is in 51 years the danger to suffer the first relegation from the club to the second layer.

“Manchester United is absolutely struggling at the moment,” he said. 'Only wolves and West Ham separate my club from relegation. Do you realize that we are so close?

“Someone said we need 11 points to just stay up and I start thinking that way.

'The only place where I may see something – and I don't even say a victory – is Leicester. We have already beaten a few times this season a few times, so we have their number.

'Normally you look at the list of luminaire and you can see where the points come from.

'We have just looked at the list of luminaire and I see no outright victories, I am not looking forward to thinking that there are three points here and there are three points there. That's the problem. '

Eight Van Man United's League Nedergagen This season came under Amorim, which Erik ten Hag replaced in Old Trafford in November.

After the disastrous result against Spurs, Amorim insisted that he is mainly concerned about the place of the team in the league table, instead of his potential exit from Old Trafford after just a few months.

The Portuguese were without 12 squadron players, but above all, he was without a large number of key figures in midfield, such as Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte and Christian Eriksen.

Despite the completion of the signing of Patrick Dorgu for £ 29.4 million from Lecce during the January transfer window, United remains in a worrying financial situation.

Several players have left the side in the winter, including Marcus Rashford and Antony, who completed the loan movements to Aston Villa and Real Betis respectively.

Earlier, Amorim admitted that United Players should sell to do new acquisitions during the coming summer transfer window.

In this case, the Red Devils can consider selling young people Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo, who have previously attracted strong interest from Chelsea and Napoli.

Both academic products can again be objectives due to the fact that they are worth 100 percent profit under PSR rules.
