Former UFC fan favorite Tony Ferguson did not stop Khabib Nurmagomedov after their super -failed fighting bookings.
Tony Ferguson will try to make a six -year -old Winless Streak when he makes his professional boxing debut against influencer Salt Papi at Misfits Boxing 22. This will be Ferguson's first fight of any kind since leaving the UFC last year, after a first round of Michael Chiesa.
After the UFC official period from Ferguson came to a bittersweet, fans continue to speculate how a matchup would have played between him and former UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. Ferguson and Nurmagomedov should fight on five different occasions, but all five bookings were thwarted by cancellation.

Years after Nurmagomedov withdrew from MMA, Ferguson remains his old UFC rival from far away. In the spirit of Ferguson, Nurmagomedov is the man who is responsible for why they never went into the Octagon.
In a recent performance on the Ariel Helwani show, Ferguson was asked to think about his rivalry with Nurmagomedov and he raised eyebrows with his comments.
“I would beat him in everything, that child is my biggest fan,” Ferguson started.
“When it comes down to it, we hated each other for a long time, and his father did him to keep him with him. Like any smart parent, he would keep them away from damage. They felt the danger when it came to these bloody fights, and Kabibib, he knew I was ahead of that night and he knew I was a few. Wasn't backwards.
“When I called him at the press conference:” Have fun cutting weight, “I can tell exactly what will happen when it happens. So I saw it coming, that guy would never fight me. Neither he or Conor [McGregor] Would step into the ring or the f ****** cage with me.
“Both gentlemen, the night that I fought against Pettis, I was about to take all three that night, and I would just have all their blood that night.”
Ferguson withdrew from two bookings by Nurmagomedov as a result of injuries, while Nurmagomedov withdrew twice due to health problems. Nurmagomedov was forced from their planned UFC 249 title fight for coronavirus because he was forbidden to leave Dagestan due to travel restrictions.
After the comments by Ferguson, Fans did not friendly take his last comments about Nurmagomedov and his reflection on their rivalry.
“Trust is great and I think this went by, it is now delusions,” wrote a fan on X.
“Is he drunk?” said another.
“There must be a complete circle moment when we all realize that Ferguson had a big winning series (followed by an 8 fight that loses streak), but El Cucuy was always super cringey and stays that.”

Ferguson he and Nurmagomedov serve as coaches on the ultimate hunter to arrange their long -term feud. Nurmagomedov withdrew from MMA after a victory over Justin Gaethje at UFC 254.
Conor McGregor restored the rivalry of Khabib Nurmagomedov after the comparison of Ilia Topuria
In the meantime, Conor McGregor revived his beef with Nurmagomedov in a recent post on social media. After Nurmagomedov McGregor pricked in comparing him with Ilia Topuria, McGregor went on an X-rated social media rant in a two-removed tweet.
McGregor will focus next year on a return to the UFC Octagon for the planned event of the promotion in the White House. UFC CEO Dana White recently welcomed the participation of McGregor, while he shuns Jon Jones from possible headlineing of the map.
McGregor has not fought in the UFC industry corner since he injured his leg against Dustin Poirier on UFC 264.
