Demetrious Johnson shared his thoughts about Dustin Poirier after his retirement on UFC 318.

Demetrious Johnson is generally considered one of the best hunters in the MMA history after his legendary run in sport.

'Mighty Mouse' it says that Poirier has had a 'very successful' career, even though he has never reached the elite level.

The former UFC champion flight weight says that the money that is earned with its fan-friendly style, which makes Poirier from others.

“A long, long, long, long career of ups and downs,” said Johnson about Poirier who followed UFC 318.

“Knockouts. He beats people out, he submits people, he is submitted.

“I mean, his career was a bit up and down, but very successful because he earned a lot, a lot of money.

“He was never the undisputed champion, but he was interim champion.

“If it arrived at the fights, I think Dustin might have had one of the best fights if he would fight.”

Holloway mercilessly stepped aside to let Poirier enjoy his moment at the end of their trilogy.

The 36-year-old icon spoke with retirement during his last interview after the fight with Daniel Cormier.

“To be honest, it is overwhelming,” Poirier said over the entire Vechtweek.

“I feel appreciated. I feel seen. I never had to go outside fighting and have to look at it in this way. I always have continued fighting and trying to grind to the next and to take care of me and the family. I never had to look from the third person.

“But this week has been incredible. I feel loved by the fans, Louisiana and the company. It was incredible. I didn't know that I had touched so many people as to chase my dreams. I am grateful forever. I love you all.”
