The arrival of a UFC Goat -Competent in his division was not enough to excite UFC Nashville -headliner Derrick Lewis in 2021.
In the first quarter of that year, Francis Ngannou Stipe Miocic spread to reach the heavyweight throne and Lewis had his last title shot and lost Ciryl Gane for the interim band.
In the midst of that everything surrounded many heavyweight discussions the expected arrival of a new, prominent name of the division poster after Jones had left the UFC Light Heavyweight title in the previous year.
Talk about the resident of Rochester, who ran two Glorie Division, who was reached two years later when Jones Gane submitted to UFC 285-Was widespread, which led to champion Ngannou and the best contenders were asked for their thoughts.
It is safe to say that nobody was as undisturbed as 'the black beast'.

Derrick Lewis was not received by Jon Jones who announced long -awaited heavyweight movement
'The Black Beast' responded to confirmation of Jones 'heavyweight plans in an interview from 2021 with Heavy, prior to Lewis' Brute Knock -out against Curtis Blaydes.
The favorite of the often dadpan heavyweight fan caused a hilarious but perhaps unexpected reaction.
“It really doesn't matter if I fight Jon or not,” said Lewis. 'Like, what does it matter?
“I don't care if he comes to heavyweight. It doesn't affect me in any way. Maybe for other guys who really want the title and so, but I don't care what Jones does with his career.
“No, not at all, because Brock Lesnar did it earlier,” Lewis added when he was asked if an immediate title shot for Jones would disturb him. “So it doesn't matter. I don't care.”

Derrick Lewis about how he would have defeated Jon Jones
Although he apparently didn't care, a fight between the couple had that came out of heavyweight, Lewis loved his chances against Jones.
During an appearance of 2021 on the Joe Rogan experience, 'The Black Beast' broke how he believes' Bones' would have approached their matchup and why it would have failed, which resulted in a different addition to Lewis' records in the UFC.
“I know what his game plan would be if he ever stood opposite me,” said Lewis. “He would try to attack the legs a lot. I don't think he really tries to get me down. He will try to keep his distance and then try to stay away.
“I would like a man to come so close to me. I believe that is their downfall when they get so close, Lewis added.
