Derrick Lewis leaked jokes a 'script' for his UFC Nashville Main Event, but went perfectly true.
Former heavyweight world title candidate Lewis explained unbeaten Brazilian Tallison Teixeira within 35 seconds to anesthetize the capacity -widthway. Only a few weeks before the fight, he warned Ariel Helwani during an appearance in his show exactly what would happen.
Lewis has now won two consecutive fights for the first time since 2021 and with the division in the air, has already emerged as a competition for the newly beaten world title of Tom Aspinall. At the age of 40, however, it is not on his side.

Derrick Lewis is a well-known joker, but his chickens came home to ray after an airy rib came to the Ariel Helwani show to pass in UFC Nashville. He joked with the experienced reporter that the UFC has now been resolved and told Bettors that the script called him to win through the first round knockout.
“It is script,” Lewis said in a clear comical tone after he had spoken about the policy of sport. “It is part of the script. The entire UFC has been scripted. It is part of the plan, so on July 12 they want me to win through the first round.
“It is part of the script … So whoever wants to make that bet, go ahead and make that bet because everything is scripted.” When Helwani joked that the screenwritters should not do great work for the heavyweights because of how boring the division has become, Lewis laughed at the idea.
“That's their fault,” he replied again in a brutal tone. “They don't want to give me fighting, so that's their fault.”

Although he went 2-5 prior to his last win reak, Derrick Lewis has maintained a solid place in the ranking because of his activity and regularly fighting top candidates. And after his last victory, he will probably go up from the number nine place he held.
Even if he stays at nine, considering how dominant Tom Aspinall has been, he can remain a serious competition only through elimination. The Brit is expected to fight the number one competitions and former interim champion Ciryl Gane in his first defense of his new undisputed belt.
