Amad Diallo has promised to “come back stronger than ever” after the winger of Manchester United sustained an ankle injury that is expected to end his season.
On Saturday, reports emerged that Diallo had sustained a single figament injury during training, with the seriousness of the issue that would probably end his campaign.
The 22-year-old is one of the most important beneficiaries of the arrival of Ruben Amorim in United last November, emerging as an important player among the former sports coach of Sporting CP.
Diallo has scored nine goals and this season added seven assists in all competitions, including a memorable late goal of beating Buren Manchester City in December.
The Ivory Coast International, which only signed a new five -year contract last month, confirmed the news about his injury on social media on Saturday.
“Extremely disappointed to write this message in such a crucial time of the season,” he wrote on Instagram. “Unfortunately I will end up with an injury for a while.
“I will come back stronger than ever! Time to support the boys from outside. It still loads to play for.”
Diallo joins Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount and Kobbie Mainoo – who is expected to miss about a month – on the long Letel list of United.
United visits Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday, with only 14 points in 13 league games under Amorim.
Only five parties took fewer points during that period, while Amorim is only the fourth coach who has lost seven or more of his first 13 top matches that are in charge of United.
The others to do this were AH Albut, Jimmy Murphy (both seven defeats) and John Chapman (10).
