Liverpool Luis Diaz has been constantly associated with a transfer to Barcelona and the Colombia International is said through his agent, to have told the Reds that he wants an exit
Luis Diaz has informed Liverpool that he wants to make Barcelona this summer, according to reports in Spain. The Reds star would have reached an agreement with the Catalan giants and is now looking for the transfer.
Diaz was an important player for Arne Slot in 2024/25 and scored 17 times over 50 performances and caused a versatile custard to the left of the attack and through the middle, often with a great effect.
The Colombian international has left for his contract in Liverpool for two years, but is constantly connected to the club. Mundo Deportivo claims that the 28-year-old cold water has cast with every attempt to renew his deal and that his agent is said to be trying to force an exit from Anfield to Barcelona.
Diaz has also attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League. Al Nassr also wants to sign Diaz, but the Liverpool -Aas apparently only has eyes for Barca.
And some believe that Diaz's partner is already saying goodbye. Gera Ponce went to Instagram to share images of the couple and their young children who celebrate the Premier League title for the heads, and of last Monday's trophy parade in the city.
She gave a moving message that expressed her gratitude. “To the incredible fans of Liverpool,” she wrote. “From the first day we arrived, we felt firsthand what it means to be part of this club.
“We knew that the slogan was 'you will never walk alone', but to hear them sing it with so much passion, support us every moment and show such unconditional love … confirmed that you never walk alone here.
“This fan not only supports, it feels. And what you have given that my friend and our whole family have the feeling that we are wearing in our souls.
“Thank you for so much love, for so much dedication and that you feel us at home. Being part of this fan is a privilege. There is no doubt: they are the best in the world. This is a real band, deep and strong, who again confirms that we will never walk alone.”
However, some patience may be needed. Barcelona Sporting Director Deco has suggested that the priorities of the club are first and foremost on players who are already at their disposal- although he has admitted that she has admitted interest in Diaz and Marcus Rashford.
“We have focused on renewing contracts, then we will discuss players to come,” the former midfielder told BBC Sport. “Of course, these two players, as you said, they are good, but have contracts in their clubs, so we will not speak because it is not fair.
“But if you decide to go to the market, we will certainly find some names. In my opinion we don't have to bring many players.
“If I speak to the players' agents, everyone wants to come or stay. So this is important. The image of the club is still good. We are proud because Barcelona is still such a big club and the way we play football, players who want to come.”
