Luis Diaz has reportedly made an important contract question in the midst of Barcelona continuous striving for the £ 60 million rated Liverpool-wing player this summer.
The Colombian international has attracted interest from all over Europe, seen with Barcelona and Bayern Munich as prominent contenders if he would leave Anfield.
Diaz would also be the subject of interest of clubs in Saudi Arabia.
According to the Spanish newspaper AS, the agents of Diaz have been in conversation via a draft contract with Barcelona in the event that a deal was agreed with Liverpool.
It is said that Barcelona's financial situation was discussed in the conversations, where the club has had problems registering Dani Olmo and Pau Victor last season.
After they received temporary licenses to register the couple last summer, the registrations were withdrawn during the January transfer window by Laliga.
Barcelona was temporarily allowed to have the licenses repaired after a appeal, but the Saga dragged through the 2025-26 season.
As a report that former Barcelona -target Nico Williams, who eventually decided to stay in Athletic Club, had asked for a release clause in his contract.
The clause would have enabled him to leave for free in the event that Barcelona could not register him.
The report claims that Diaz has chosen against a similar clause that is inserted in a contract, but the Colombian would have demanded a fee in the event that he cannot be registered by 1 August.
This would ensure that Diaz stays at the club, but would be compensated financially if he was unable to play for a longer period.
Although Diaz is said to be a favorite of Barcelona Sporting Director Deco, it remains unclear whether the club will accept his question.
Mail Sport reported earlier in July that Liverpool had a approach to Bayern, Teld Director of Sport Max Eberl, that the 28-year-old Anfield would not leave.
Diaz has insisted that he is 'very, very happy' with the Reds, but that did not prevent him from being linked to a series of sides.
Liverpool has not offered an extension of his contract and there will be a few years, the responsibility is up to them to call his future.
The versatile Diaz made 50 performances in all competitions last season, scored 17 goals and offered eight assists.
He recently said: 'I am very, very happy in Liverpool. From the first day they really made me feel welcome.
'At the moment we have contact with them because we are talking [other] Clubs. It is normal, the market is open and we try to find out what is best for us.
'I just wait to see what is happening. If Liverpool does not make a good offer, I will have two years left with them, I would be happy and be satisfied to stay there. And that is, everything clearly depends on it, it is up to me to decide what is best for us. '
Diaz came to Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 for a first fee of £ 37.5 million.
He has become an important player, played 148 times and became the second Colombian player ever to win the Premier League after Juan Cuadrado did with Chelsea.
