Eric Dier has decided to leave Bayern Munich when his contract ends at the end of the season, says sports director Christoph Freund.
Dier joined Bayern in January last year after a decade-long Stint on the Premier League side Tottenham.
After the requirement of the required number of performances to meet the clause in the loan contract, it was confirmed that the move would be made permanently at the end of last season.
He drew a deal until June 2025, but has chosen not to extend it further.
“We had discussions with Eric about a new contract. He told us that he does not want to extend and leave us,” Freund told reporters.
“He is a great guy. We had a great time together. He also felt very much at home here in Munich and in the club. Hopefully he will be awarded his time with his first title.”
Dier has made 45 performances in all competitions since he came to Bayern, which started 35 Starts.
At that time he scored two goals, including one in their 3-0 win over Mainz last Saturday, a victory that moved them at the moving distance of the Bundesliga title.
Sky Sports reported that Dier has agreed a three-year-old deal with Monaco and will reach the Ligue 1 side in July.
Vincent Kompany's Bayern side has an eight-pointed lead in second place Bayer Leverkusen with three games to go.
They can achieve a record-expanding 34th German league title on Saturday with a victory over the fifth RB Leipzig.
However, if they do not win, they can still conquer the title on Sunday if the result of Leverkusen in Freiburg on Sunday matches Bayern's.
