Dillon Danis lost a $75,000 bet on the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury and took out his frustration with a wild claim on social media.
Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk treated boxing fans to an all-time great heavyweight bout in Riyadh. The two best heavyweight boxers went head-to-head for twelve rounds in a razor-sharp fight.
After twelve rounds of back and forth action, Usyk got the nod over Fury on all three judges' scorecards. He fell 2-0 to Fury and remains undefeated in his professional boxing career with the victory.
While Usyk's performance was a sight to behold, not everyone found Usyk's win satisfying. Dillon Danis lost a $75,000 bet on the winner of the matchup after picking Fury to leave the ring victorious.
Danis is no stranger to creating controversy and betting big on martial arts events. After the result of Usyk vs. Fury went on to Danis to minimize boxing as a sport, claiming that a UFC flyweight would dominate both top heavyweights.

Dillon Danis: Demetrious Johnson chokes Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Usyk
In a recent post to X, Danis disparaged Fury and Usyk by comparing them to a former UFC flyweight champion.
“What's the point of boxing anyway if Demetrious Johnson can beat Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Usyk and choke them out in a minute in a real fight?” Danis posted.
Fans didn't hesitate to boo Danis' claim.
“We need to know what you smoking bro,” one follower replied.
“What's the point in MMA if a samurai can cut them all in half?”
“No, he couldn't, not in a minute.”
“It's a completely different sport? That's like saying, 'What's the point of basketball? Jon Jones can choke LeBron in 10 seconds!”
Demetrious Johnson reassured fans following Alexandre Pantoja's recent UFC call-up that he remains steadfast in his decision to retire. Johnson announced his MMA retirement earlier this year after a trilogy win over Adriano Moraes in ONE.
Johnson introduced someone with a significant size advantage during a recent Brazilian jiu-jitsu roll that went viral on social media. But Danis' claim that the 5'3″ Johnson would have no problem choking Usyk and Fury seems like a foolish proposition.
Dillon Danis' Fury/Usyk 2 version is the latest in a series of controversies
Danis is no stranger to stirring things up on social media. After a boxing disqualification loss to Logan Paul, he found himself in legal trouble with Paul's fiancée following a series of allegedly defamatory posts online.
Danis, once a top Bellator prospect, parted ways with the promotion after a 2-0 stretch. His boxing loss to Paul is the only combat sports competition he has competed in since 2019.
Danis' attempt to minimize boxing as a sport was not well received by combat sports fans. While Johnson may be the greatest mixed martial artist of all time, the idea that he could easily choke out two heavyweight boxing greats is far-fetched.
