Diogo Dalot admits Ruben Amorim's remark that Manchester United is perhaps the worst team in the history of the club, but insists that it inspires the players to incorrectly prove their head coach.
Since Amorim made admission after the defeat against Brighton, United has won three games against Rangers, Fulham and Steaua Bucharest while preparing for Crystal Palace in Old Trafford on Sunday.
Dalot said: 'I don't want to hear that, so the message for me is the next training session that I have to show that I do not want to belong to the worst Manchester United team in history.
'You can analyze it as something negative. I analyze it as something positive because I want to change the situation. My teammates too, and we show against Steaua that we want to change this, so hopefully we can do it again on Sunday.
'Of course he (Amorim) is a passionate man. He was as a player and now he is also as a manager, and I think this is what this club needs. Talk to all the fans they always show this wish to want the best for the club. That's what he wants. '
Dalot admits that it will not be easy to maintain the revival of the results, but it insists that the 'storm' will disappear and United will go in the right direction.
“I mean, we know what happened this season, it was really difficult, not just for us, but for all people involved in the club,” the Portugal defender added. 'But we want to change it and we want to start, step by step, and the first step is to win games, clean sheets.
'Football is always unpredictable, but what you can see is that we try to be more consistent in it, try to win more games, and that is the part that we want to keep.
'It does not mean that things will be beautiful until the end of the season, but that is where we want to go. We are really positive about it.
“We know that this storm that everyone is talking about will disappear. But as a team we have to suffer as a club. The fans must be with us and I am sure they will get up again. '
