Dixon calls for Man Utd star to be fined a WEEK’S wages after embarrassing error

Noussair Mazraoui was closed by ITV-CO-commentator Lee Dixon after a comic blunder during the MAN United match against Leicester on Friday evening.

The Red Devils escaped Old Trafford with a 2-1 win and booked their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup, thanks to a final winner of Harry Maguire.

But the road to victory was far from smooth sailing and the blooper of Mazraoui was one of the many bumps on the way to the fourth victory of United in five games.

Former Arsenal hero Dixon was surprised after the Moroccan had picked a complication and was whistled for a dirty throw.

He went so far that he called to get the full back to get a weekly wages a fine, because United ran 1-0 early in the second half.

'Absolute dirty throw. Should have a weekly wages for that, “Dixon said during the comments at the game for ITV.

“How can't you throw in a ball?”

Backup in its own half of United, Mazraoui stepped up to take a routine complication of the right flank, but stuttered twice before committed the violation.

He then threw the ball to the ground, which infringes law 15.1 in the FA Rulebook.

This says that a player must: “Throw the ball with both hands from behind and over the head from the point where the field left.”

Mazraoui indeed threw the ball from behind his head, but the trajectory of his throw did not suffice the last part of the rule where the ball had to be thrown over.

Other requirements for a valid complication are as follows:

'At the time of delivery of the ball, the pitcher must be opposed to the field;

“Have part of each foot on the touch line or on the ground outside the touchline.”

United hit Leicester's victory thanks to the deceased header of Maguire. Repetitions showed that the defender was comfortable offside, but VAR was not in use and the goal was.

The result somewhat paper over the cracks of a poor association that is shown at night, whereby the side of Ruben Amorim has no shot on goal until the 68th minute when Joshua Zirkzee made it 1-1.

Bobby de Cordova-Reid had given the visitors a deserved lead on Ruud van Nistelrooy to Old Trafford, but replacement Zirkzee and Alejandro Garnacho helped to inspire a comeback.

United fans celebrated in the stands when they returned the previous time out of a disappointing defeat by Crystal Palace, but they are still 13th in the Premier League and struggle under Amorim.
