Doku’s dribbles and other interesting Dream Team stats from the season so far

Prepare to let your mind blow up.

Or more realistic, prepare for mildly intrigued by seven surprising dream team statistics from the season so far.

Doku's Dribbels

Jeremy Doku leads the road for successful dribbles with 99 in all competitions.

His closest rival is Morgan Rogers at 85, but the Aston Villa midfielder has played more than twice as many minutes.

The Belgian wing player completed no less than 15 dribbles against Brighton last time -out and helped him claim five bonus points.

For comparison: Phil Foden has registered 24 successful dribbles throughout the season.

Shoot at sight

Amazingly enough, only Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah have registered more shots this season than Alejandro Garnacho.

The Manchester United has achieved 45 in all competitions, the same count as Ollie Watkins, one more than Cole Palmer, and two more than Alexander Isak.

Although Watkins and Palmer have each scored 14 goals and has looted Isak 23, Garnacho has scored only eight goals in 44 trips.

Immediate impact

Marco Asensio has scored seven goals in eight games since his loan switch in January switched to Aston Villa with a success rate of one every 54.7 minutes.

As a result, he has an average of 8.3 points per game.

Only Bukayo Saka (9.3) and Cole Palmer (8.6) have better averages between midfielders this season and the two are now marked as not available.

The villains are the only team with six games to fulfill over the next three game week, making Asensio extremely viable for the following month or so.

Runner

The quality of Mohamed Salah is hardly a secret, but nobody would have predicted the size of his success this season.

At the time of writing, the most important man of Liverpool is 111 points for his best rival, Bruno Fernandes.

The Egyptian superstar leads the way for goals (32), helps (22) and great opportunities (27).

After the elimination of the Reds from the FA Cup and Champions League, Salah only has nine league games left.

Yet he has set such an emphatic lead that it is very unlikely that someone will overtake, even with extra competitions.

Referees

Bruno Guimaraes was by far the most polluted player in the dream team last season and he is on track to keep his title in 2024/25.

The Newcastle midfielder has won 115 free kicks so far.

Only one other player, James Maddison (77), this campaign has been polluted more than 66 times.

Streetwise style of Guimara is a big reason why he is jointly in his position for bonus points.

Set piece Specialist

As mentioned earlier, Salah has created more great opportunities than anyone else, but it can surprise dream tamb bosses to hear that Declan Rice is second in the list.

Arsenal's No41 has created 23 big opportunities (as defined by OPTA) for his teammates in all competitions.

The main reason why he performs better than creative talents such as Palmer and Fernandes in this metric is his set piece of expertise.

The Gunners have formed a huge threat to corners this season and the quality of Rice's delivery has been a crucial factor in the success of his side.

Interestingly, Saka is still in third place for great opportunities (22), despite the fact that he has not played before Christmas!

They choose

Here is the RAW Truth: no Dream Team goalkeeper has admitted more goals this season than Andre Onana.

The Cameroon International has chosen the ball 52 times from its net in all competitions.

Aaron Ramsdale of Southampton has done the same from fewer performances, but the figures paint a grim image of the recent fortunes of Manchester United.

Despite sending many goals, Onana is in third place in his position for total points.

Only two keepers have made more saves at this stage.
