Dominick Cruz was one of the largest UFC champions in the history of promotion.
'The Dominator' announced his retirement of the sport in February. Cruz withdrew from his UFC Co-Main event in Seattle with injury, an overly common event for the future Hall-of-Famer. Anyway, fans were not too satisfied with the booking of Cruz against Rob Font; They preferred a legend versus legend fight with someone like Jose Aldo, perhaps for a double pension.
Now fans will not see Cruz fighting because he announced his retirement on social media. It will still appear on the UFC panel, but his UFC performance ends today.

Dominick Cruz defeated TJ Dillashaw to claim UFC -Riem after a litany of injuries
Cruz was the reigning WEC Bantamweight champion and became the inaugural UFC Bantamweight champion with a victory over Scott Jorgensen when the UFC WEC absorbed in 2010. He defended his new title twice before a series of injuries forced him to leave the belt.
In his absence, Bantam weight was destroyed Renan Barao from Interim to an undisputed status and was considered the next great talent in the promotion. When 31-1, Barao came across emerging TJ Dillashaw on UFC 173. Despite the fact that he was a considerable favorite, Barao was dismantled by Dillashaw, who became the new champion.
Dillashaw defended the belt twice against Joe Soto and welcomed the return of Cruz in a rematch with Barao. Cruz had previously taken three years of leave before he returned to winning ways at UFC 178 against Takeya Mizugaki. Cruz's fight with Dillashaw was almost two years later after another ACL Teacher.
Cruz vs. Dillashaw was advertised on all fronts as one of the largest bantam weight that supplied all fronts. Fans saw the highest level of mixed martial arts when Cruz and Dillashaw compete against each other.
Cruz defeated Dillashaw through a split decision and secure his second reign as the UFC Bantamweight Champion. In his interview after the fight, Cruz noted: 'I tried to explain that there is no such thing as rust; How often did I say that?
'[…] Rust does not exist unless you don't train hard enough.
Why is Dominick Cruz so injured?
Cruz's injuries can be partially credited to its style and overtraining. 'The Dominator' brought a unique style to the octhoek, consisting of evasive movement and wide loops. The core of Cruz's style continued to stay off the middle line while he was offensive and overloaded the senses of his opponent with in-and-out Feints. He only started losing decisively when his body couldn't keep up.
Injuries are part of training in MMA, and for a style like Cruz's, supporting them in training was more than usual.
