The Atalanta legend has returned to Italian football with Badova series.
Now 37, Gomez has signed a two -year -old deal with Padova and it will be clear to take the field again in October after his two -year doping ban.
Gomez was still contracted as Sevilla when he tested positively and was eventually suspended in 2023 while playing for Monza in the Serie A.
He was always planning to return to the field, after he first trained in Spain with Deportivo Manchego in the Tercera Federacion and then in Italy with Series C Regina.
