The former Lazio striker has drawn with Monza until the end of the season.
The 30-year-old attacker was a free agent after he was released from his contract to Sivassspor last month.
His deal with Monza contains an option of 12 months.
Balte had trained with Monza this week and quickly impressed on hired coach Alessandro Nesta, who approved the deal yesterday.
