Manchester City is in line with a deal with PSG for goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, but a transfer with an estimated £ 43 million will not be completed until Ederson is sold
According to reports, Gianluigi Donnarumma agreed personal conditions with Manchester City, but the £ 43 million deal to sign Italy no. 1 from Paris Saint-Germain, could still derail if the side of Pep Guardiola is unable to seal the departure of Ederson.
And with the recently returned James Trafford who has difficulty impressing in Saturday's defeat against Tottenham Hotspur, City seems to be in a stronger mood to strengthen.
A visibly emotional Donnarumma seemed to say goodbye to PSG supporters after the 1-0 victory against Angers, where he was an unused replacement. Paris Baas Luis Enrique has made it clear that Lucas Chevalier, arrival in the summer, who was signed at Lille, is their first choice topper, so that Donnarumma can look for a new club.
Enrique described last week Donnarumma as “one of the best keepers in the world, undoubtedly and even better as a person,” but said that the decision to continue his, was taken for tactical reasons.
Manchester United, who also needs a new goalkeeper, was briefly connected to a movement for Donnarumma only for that interest in calming down.
Now the city seems to be in pole position to acquire the big stop – as soon as Brazil can leave International Edererson. Galatasaray has shown a great interest in his signature, but a deal is not nearly complete.
Guardiola discussed his current goalkeeper options on Saturday and refused to point the finger of the debt to Trafford for their 2-0 loss for traces with the Englishman who looks Nervy with the ball at his feet and a mistake that leads to the second of their visitors.
“James made a good first game and I decided to continue [with him]”said Guardiola, who explained the selection of Trafford.
“The keeper is of course a special position to have more consistency in the goal. When I make decisions in the first part of the season for all players playing one or two games, everyone thinks that this is the starting line-up, these are the players who are going to play, but everyone will play with this number of games.
