Gianluigi Donnarumma has beaten in Paris Saint-Germain because he freezes him from the club while confirming that he would leave the French giants this summer.
The Italian star, 26, is generally considered one of the best keepers in the world, but is effectively banned from the PSG First Team.
Reports in France had claimed that he was sidelined of the training after he was told by Club Chiefs that Lucas Chevalier, an arrival of £ 48 million from Lille, would be their new no. 1.
And Donnarumma apparently confirmed those reports when he posted a farewell message to PSG fans on social media on Tuesday.
“Unfortunately, someone has decided that I can no longer be part of the group and contribute to the success of the team,” he said. “I am disappointed and discouraged.”
PSG pushed Donnarumma to the output door after he was unable to agree on a new contract, which will expire next summer. On Monday it was confirmed that he had come out of the team on Wednesday for the Super Cup final against Spurs in Italy.
His approaching departure has attracted the attention of various European giants, including Manchester City and Manchester United, although the Red Devils are not thought in the race for his signature.
Pep Guardiola's side is considering a movement for the Italian with Galatasaray that is interested in Ederson.
City has already signed goalkeeper James Trafford for £ 31 million this summer and the recurring star is ready to be the new No. 1 of the club.
PSG will probably want around £ 40 million for Donnarumma, who has also attracted interest from Real Madrid and clubs in Saudi Arabia.
The goalkeeper, who reportedly earns around £ 200,000 a week in the Ligue 1-club, thanked his teammates and fans in his message.
“I hope to get the chance to look the fans in the Parc des Princes again and say goodbye as it should be done,” he added.
“If that doesn't happen, I want you to know that your support and affection mean the world for me, and I'll never forget it.”
Donnarumma has made 161 performances for PSG since he joined the AC Milan club in 2021 with a free transfer.
He has won four Ligue 1 titles, two French cups, three French Super Cups and the Champions League in the club.
Donnarumma also enjoyed success with Italy after helping his country in 2021 to be crowned European champions.
