Manchester United is interested in goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma in Paris Saint-Germain.
Donnarumma started the last year of his contract and PSG is almost a new 'keeper in Lucas Chevalier van Lille.
The Italy International is not in a hurry to make a decision about its future and is willing to compete with Chevalier for the No. 1 place.
It is still a possibility that he will stay with the Champions League winners this summer.
The importance of United, however, raises the future of Andre Onana.
The Cameroon International is with the team in the United States, but is currently being sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Analysis: Why Donnarumma would be an upgrade for Onana
Sky Sports' Peter Smith:
“Gianluigi Donnarumma would be a huge signature for Man Utd – both literally and figuratively.
“The 6ft5 in Italy Shot stopper is a huge presence in the goal and is considered one of the best keepers in the industry.
“It feels like Donnarumma went to even bigger heights last season and played a crucial role in the incredible season of Paris St-Germain.
“Commander in Ligue 1, a shoot-out star against Liverpool in the Champions League and formidable with five clean sheets in eight games at the World Cup club, Donnarumma would be a huge coup for United if they could get a deal.
“Andre Onana has been in the spotlight since he had disappointment against Wolves in his Premier League debut and uncertainty about the current United keeper has fed the nervousness and lack of conviction about the backline of Ruben Amorim.
“His total of eight errors that lead to goals since the beginning of 2023/24 is more than any other goalkeeper in the Premier League. Donnarumma would be a substantial upgrade.”
