Jon Jones comes in for a number of intense trolls from fans after sharing a painfully ironic tweet just before he confirms his UFC pension.
Tonight Dana White confirmed that the legendary world champion had called on him to withdraw from fighting. This has enabled Tom Aspinall to take over as an undisputed heavyweight world champion.
Jones was a long -missed but inactive champion; Winning the empty belt against Ciryl Gane in March 2023. He defended the belt only once against Stipe Miocic in November, which is the same as the number of times that Aspinall has defended his interim rim.

During the UFC Baku Post-Fight press conference, Dana White told reporters that Jon Jones had called him to confirm that he withdrew from the competition. This allowed Tom Aspinall to go from Interim to undisputed champion at heavyweight.
If White's timeline is accurate, it seems that after he had made the call, but hours before it was made public, Jones had brought to X to send a tweet that read: “I think Mexican song is great. Tell me Don't Cry Don't Cry.”

Although it seemed harmless at the time, it has since become viral with Aspinall fans who shred him for skipping the greatest fight in recent heavyweight history. “Goat”, a fan wrote on Jones, before he claims it stands for “Biggest of Tom's avoidance.”
Others kept referring to him by his 'duck' -bine name, which was given him because he supposedly avoided a fight with Aspinall before he retired. “In which park are you sitting so that I can throw bread at you, duck?” One fan wrote, with another answer to his tweet by saying: “The name of the song is Duck.”
