Real Madrid had made a strong game for the signature of Morocco Under-17 Starlet Abdellah Ouazane. The 16-year-old creative midfielder was the target of a series of European giants, but with the documents and the medical complete, Los Blancos decided to pull the plug out of the deal.
Ouazane has been in the Spanish capital since Monday, in the expectation to sign for Real Madrid. Their plan was that Ouazane fell at their Castilla side and this season worked under Alvaro Arbeloa, considered one of the most talented players in Europe of his age.
The news that Real Madrid had broken the agreement on Thursday, and Marca now says that the deal has collapsed for 'unknown reasons'. Diario is immediately more direct and say that Ouazane has failed his medically, and Real Madrid has decided not to continue with the deal. His brother Zakaria Ouazane, 18, also had to sign for Real Madrid, but that will not continue.
Ouazane and his family have returned to the Netherlands to start training for the new season. It was not published which part of the medical that Ouazane failed, and it is still to be seen whether Barcelona or PSG could breathe new life into the teenage talent, or whether they would be willing to take a risk of him. He had rejected three offers from Ajax to stay, but a return to the Dutch giants could also be an option – his agent has explained that they will look at alternative options. He now has no contract and free to move as a free agent. Real Madrid made the decision to move for him after an impressive African Cup of Nations under 17.
