Patrick Dorgu was seen on his way to dinner in a chic restaurant prior to confirming his £ 25.2 million relocation to Manchester United.
Dorgu, 20, threw on Saturday from Italy to undergo his medical and officially put pen on paper with a five and a half year contract with Old Trafford.
The versatile full back is the second signing of Ruben Amorim, after younger Ayden Heaven had arrived from Arsenal, and he is expected to be in the stands this afternoon for the home game of United against Crystal Palace.
After completing his formalities in Carrington, Dorgu went to the Ivy, a chic establishment that is popular with united players and staff.
Dressed in a brown sweater and sharp black pants, the defender held his hood up and was flanked by three guards when he entered the front door.
He had arrived in a black jeep in the restaurant and took a short walk from the car, while hopeful spectators took their phones to film him.
Amorim had identified Dorgu, a four-time Denmark-international, as a player who could solve his headache at the left wing, while he can also play on the right.
When asked about his approaching move to United at an airport yesterday, Dorgu told Sky Sports: “Yes, it's an opportunity for me.”
His medical was delayed earlier this week with the necessary documentation and contracts that were not completed on time for the original test. Lecce would also like to include him in their team for their defeat by Parma on Friday evening.
United initially served a bid of £ 16.8 million plus £ 4.2 million in add-ons, but this was rejected.
Mail Sport reported that Lecce originally maintained a package worth £ 33 million.
Dorgu's contract with the Serie A -side would run until 2029 and club president Saverio Sticchi Damiani claimed that they would 'invent' players if they could.
United had PSG Full Back Nuno Mendes on their shortlist for this month, but the deal was considered too difficult because of the terrible financial position of the club. Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez was another consideration.
Dorgu started his youth career at Side Husum Boldklub in Copenhagen before moving to Nordsjaelland's Academy in 2020.
Two years later he signed for Leece and was promoted to the senior team after only one season. His debut arrived in the Coppa Italia in August 2023.
In the meantime, Marcus Rashford is expected to be on loan at Aston Villa. The attacker has been activated by Amorim today.
Rashford missed the last 12 games and stated that he was ready for a 'new challenge' in a Bombshell interview that was released in December.
The deal will also contain an option to make the move permanent for £ 40 million.
