Dorgu sent off after HORROR challenge on Hutchinson following VAR review

Manchester United Wing-Back Patrick Dorgu was shown a straight red card for a horror-tackle in the 3-2 victory from his side on Ipswich Town in Old Trafford.

The incident took place in the 43rd minute when Ipswich -wing player Omari Hutchinson started operating the ball through the touchline.

Dorgu came flying in but went over the top of the ball and caught Hutchinson High on the shin.

The referee initially took a mild representation, but VAR intervened after assessing the challenge and insisted on the civil servant to check the pitchside monitor.

After viewing repetitions, the referee changed his mind and Dorgu showed a red card before the defender was comforted by teammate Manuel Ugarte.

Dorgu, who last month from Serie A Side Lecce signed for £ 29.4 million, had already passed a nightmare start of the game after a mix with Andre Onana Jaden Philogenee allowed Ipswich in front within four minutes.

United turned the game back in their favor with two goals in four minutes when Sam Morsy's own goal brought them to the level before Matthijs de Ligt shot the Red Devils.

But Dorgu was then on the receiving side of a big challenge of Hutchinson, and the couple came together again a little later when Dorgu got his tackle terribly wrong.

He received his marching orders, making United announced more than 10 men more than half.

And they only managed to hold on to their advantage for a few minutes after Dorgu left, because Philogene scored his second of the game in the first half of the stop time to enter the 2-2.

But United recovered the lead for two minutes in the second half by Harry Maguire and held on to achieve a crucial three points.
