Dortmund chief reveals conversations over Gittens’ future amid Chelsea interest

Borussia Dortmund sports director Sebastian Kehl has revealed that 'conversations' have taken place about the future of Jamie Gittens.

Chelsea remains enthusiastic about gittens after a failed move before the World Cup club, after he has chosen not to go further than a bid of £ 42 million.

They had previously made an £ 29.5 million offer that was also knocked back by the Bundesliga outfit.

Dortmund -sports director Kehl is convinced that the winger remains 'professional', because speculation continues over his future in Germany.

“We have had one or two conversations with Jamie in recent days,” said Kehl.

“He is professional enough to know that he has to perform. That is also in its nature. Jamie will still be very important for us in this tournament. We will see what happens next.

“But I don't have a negative opinion about him.”

The second transfer window is now open and Chelsea remains interested in Gittens, who likes to be on the move.

However, it is still to be seen whether they are willing to match Dortumund's £ 55 million price tag on the former winger in Manchester City.

Gittens was a late replacement in the 0-0 draw of Dortmund with Fluminense in the club World Cup.

Chelsea wants to bring a new winger to the club this summer after he decides not to sign Jadon Sancho permanently.

Sancho released last season with Stamford Bridge, but Chelsea paid a fee of £ 5 million to cancel their obligation to permanently sign him at Manchester United.

The side of Enzo Maresca has already risen their attack this summer after signing £ 30 million from Liam Delap from Ipswich.
