Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that Mike Tullberg will remain on interim charge for Wednesday's Champions League clash.
Tullberg, previously from the youth set-up with BVB, oversaw a 2-2 draw with Werder Bremen at home on Saturday in his first match since Nuri Sahin was sacked.
Dortmund sporting director Lars Ricken revealed that Tullberg will be in charge again when they host Shakhtar Donetsk in Europe and need a win to keep them in the competition.
“Mike will also be on the bench on Wednesday,” Ricken said. “That was actually clear in advance.
“But I told him it was all about the Werder game, because I wanted Mike Tullberg 100 percent – and that's what we got.”
In terms of the performance itself against Werder, Serhou Guirassy's strike and a Marco Freidl own goal had Dortmund in the lead, only for Leonardo Bittencourt and Marvin Ducksch to drag the visitors' level.

Tullberg was still pleased with what he saw from his side, who were languishing in 11th place in the Bundesliga table.
“My job was to lead the team until Saturday. Now I have the job to lead it until Wednesday,” Tullberg told a post-match press conference.
“The boys put everything there. You can't accuse them of anything. After the match I am more positive than negative. We played 70 minutes with 10 players but still got a point.”
Erik Ten Hag, Niko Kovac and Roger Schmidt have all been reportedly linked with Dortmund's vacancy, although Ricken says the club will consider their options before making a decision.
“We're taking the time we need. I think we're in a great position right now with Mike because he can get through the players,” Ricken said.
The message for Tullberg also remains clear, as the stand-in boss recognized the need for results.
“It's always about helping the club,” he added. “In the first few years it was about developing players and winning games, but now it's about winning games and stabilizing the team.”
