Niko Kovac knows that Borussia Dortmund should have been transformed a team if they have to have hope for a wonderful comeback from the Champions League against Barcelona.
Former Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski also scored twice, with Raphinha and Lamine Yamal on Doel, when Barcelona won the first stage of the teams of the teams 4-0.
Only one advantage of four goals has been successfully destroyed in the Champions League, where Barca is back from 4-0 to beat Paris Saint-Germain 6-5 on aggregate in 2017.
Dortmund, Champions League second in 2024, are massive underdogs on home on Tuesday, with Barca losing a competition since the turn of the year.
“We know the situation. We want to show a completely different face tomorrow than in the first stage and win the game,” Kovac told reporters on Monday.
“There are always miracles, but we also know that Barcelona has not lost a competitive game this year.
“We have to be there tomorrow from the first minute and get the fans on our side. We only get the necessary wind from them, the willingness to run.”
Dortmund, who has also struggled in the Bundesliga and are eighth in the rankings on 42 points, can be without captain Emre Can, who played due to injury.
“We have to rest in the training today. He has had muscular problems in his adductor area for weeks and he always grinds his teeth,” said Kovac.
“You have to emphasize that. It is possible that he will not play tomorrow, we must see it.”
Dortmund could trust Felix Nmecha to fill the emptiness if it is not possible, with the former Wolfsburg man who recently returned from injury.
Kovac said about Nmecha: “Felix has developed very well as a player and as a person.
“He can do everything on the ball, has great dynamics and is a complete player. After his long injury, he is still a bit behind in terms of fitness.”
