Nuri Sahin branded Borussia Dortmund's performance against Eintracht Frankfurt as “embarrassing” after they suffered a third successive defeat.
Eintracht won 2-0 in the Bundesliga on Friday thanks to goals from Hugo Ekitike and Oscar Hojlund, increasing the pressure on Dortmund's head coach.
It leaves Dortmund in tenth place after 18 games, with still only one away win to their name in the top flight this season.
While they dominated possession against Eintracht, they struggled in front of goal and managed just three of their 12 shots on target, although Serhou Guirassy did hit the woodwork in the first half.
Sahin was left dejected after another away defeat.
“Honestly, I don't have words right now because it's a shame to play a game like this, or not to play a game like this. Right now it's very difficult to find the right words find,” he said.
“I know that in my role I have to be in front of the cameras and speak, but on the other hand I am also a human being and the coach. I am the most responsible person at this club for my team. It is completely my responsibility.”

Dortmund are just three points behind sixth place in the race for European football next season and five points below fourth-placed RB Leipzig.
Sahin's position as head coach has come under increasing pressure in recent months, but director Lars Ricken has once again expressed his confidence in the 36-year-old.
“Nuri has had our support so far, and he will continue to do so,” he told reporters. “It is his and our responsibility to get the best out of Borussia Dortmund.
“Nuri will be on the bench in Bologna with the clear expectation that we need wins and successes now.”
Dortmund travel to Bologna in the Champions League on Tuesday, with the club just one point below the automatic qualification spots.
