Drake has explained why former UFC star Nate Diaz is his favorite fighter.
The Canadian rap star is known for betting (and losing) a lot of money on martial arts events.
Drake's bets have been wrong so often that a ridiculous rumor that he is “cursed” has gained momentum.
Big money betting aside, he's just an MMA fan. The 38-year-old spoke excitedly when asked to name his favorite UFC fighter of all time during a stream on his KICK channel with Adin Ross on Thursday evening.

Drake explains why Nate Diaz is his favorite fighter
Nate Diaz has never been the best in the world and has never won a UFC title, but MMA fans love him.
The 39-year-old has lost 13 times during his 34-fight career, which has taken a new direction since ending his 15-year stay with the UFC after knocking out Tony Ferguson last year.
Diaz is 1-1 in boxing fights with Jorge Masvidal and Jake Paul, who Drake lost $250,000 betting against when he defeated the UFC legend in 10 rounds in August 2023.
What's next? No one knows, but you can bet the 'One Dance' hitmaker will tune in to watch his favorite fighter.
“I'm going to answer this question strictly based on who, in my opinion, is the most thorough,” Drake responded when asked to name his favorite UFC fighter of all time. “You just can't be more thorough than this guy.
“I respect people that you are where you come from and nothing else can change you. The money, the wins, nothing. So for me it's Nate. That's my favorite fighter because Nate is just crazy through and through.
“Of course I have other favorite fighters. I love Conor [McGregor] with all my heart, that's my husband.
“I'm talking about if it's rappers, who would I listen to? I would listen to Nate and Conor. Nate is just one of those people. Nate goes Nate and that's it. I respect the Diaz Brothers, shout out to them.”

Joe Rogan offers to help Drake with UFC betting
During a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, music producer Scott Storch brought up “Champagne Papi” and expressed interest in working with him.
“I really want to work with Drake, but I'm blocked with Drake,” Storch said. “I know Drake loves me and my production, but for whatever reason I wasn't able to get it.”
The mere mention of Drake's name sent the UFC commentator off-topic.
Rogan immediately started talking about Drake's bad fight bets.
“I want to get a hold of Drake and talk to him about his fighting choices,” he said.
“That son of a bitch loses more money on fights [than anyone]. I want to call him.'
Rogan's producer reminded his boss that the hip-hop icon had recently won a big bet.
Drake backed up a $450,000 Jon Jones KO before the heavyweight champion took on Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 in November.
Drake earned $954,000 when Jones knocked his opponent to the ground with a spinning back kick to the stomach in the third round of their pay-per-view main event. Still, Rogan remained unimpressed by Drake's fight bets.
He added: “Wasn't Jon Jones a 600/1 favourite? That's what I would have said anyway. I mean, that's an easy guess.”
