Drew Dober breaks silence on controversial KO loss in UFC Mexico City co-main

UFC Lightweight Ster Dew Dober spoke about the controversial end of his fight in UFC Mexico City.

Drew Dober was in the unfortunate end of one of the few discussions in UFC Mexico City. But even though he immediately protested against his loss against one of the biggest stars of the map, Dober took a more measured tone in his first comments after the fight.

Dober and Manuel Torres treated fans at a decent show in the Co-Main event of UFC Mexico City. It was a crucial lightweight matchup between two of the high-doctane fighters with High-Oudane, and the action did not disappoint.

But despite that Torres vs. Dober almost precisely played how many fans expected, it didn't play without any controversy.

UFC Fanfavoriet talks about controversial KO loss at UFC Mexico City

Halfway through the first round, Torres landed a stiff puncture with a straight right that Landed to Dober's Kin. Dober fell quickly to the canvas when Torres went a desperate attempt at Dober Takedown with standing hammer fists while Dober tried a few legs.

After a whole series of Torres remained unanswered during the exchange, referee Mike Beltran brought the fight to a screaming stop and Torres gave the TKO victory. Dober immediately looked perplexed in the interruption, but it seemed visibly wobbled and stunned when officials tried to explain to him what had happened.

Dober hit an honest tone in his first post-fight statement after UFC Mexico City.

In a recent statement to X, Dober closed the pension interviews after UFC Mexico City and responded to the controversial interruption.

“Well, that was bad,” bee started. A beautifully timed two two from Manuel Torres. There is not much to go off, except, unfortunately, steps for a long power puncher.

“No matter how much I love Mexico city, it has given me two of my most embarrassing losses of my career, haha. But the food and people are still the best. I am happy and healthy and excited to stay at home for a while.”

Dober could take some free time after his third consecutive loss and the fourth defeat in his last five fights. Before the loss against Torres, Dober Back-to-Back battles with Renato Moicano and Jean Silva.

'Middleweight Francis Ngannou' stole the show in UFC Mexico City

Torres vs. Dober was far from the only high peak of a stacked map in UFC Mexico City. A 22-year-old debutant, Ateba Gautier, made comparisons with Francis Ngannou with a bad knockout on the UFC Mexico City Prelims.

Boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. Ronaldo Rodriguez walked to the Octagon for his matchup with Kevin Borjas. But despite the fanfare, Rodriguez suffered his first UFC defeat by unanimous decision.

Not all highlights took place within the fighting themselves. UFC Octagon -broadcaster Bruce Buffer had a rare accident when he incorrectly announced one of the winners of the Prelim fight, which encouraged a wild reaction to social media.
