Dricus du Plessis issues brutal answer to Belal Muhammad saying he ‘sucks’, Muhammad responds

UFC Middenweight Champion Dric Du Plessis scorched the earth on Belal Muhammad after the recent comments from the Welterweight Champion about his division.

Dricus Du Plessis is fresh from his dominant UFC 312 Rematch victory on Sean Strickland in his newest middleweight title defense. But only a few weeks away from the event is Du Plessis in an emerging feud with an unexpected name; UFC Welterweight Champion Belal Muhammad.

Du Plessis has spoken Strickland by a unanimous decision to retain its middle weight belt on UFC 312 earlier this month. After their first fight in 2024 was considered a candidate 'fight of the year', their Rematch was anything but overwhelmed, as Du Plessis overwhelmed and overwhelmed from start to finish.

Muhammad was not impressed by the performance of Strickland when he shot the UFC Middleweight Division in a recent podcast performance with Barrstool Sports. Muhammad claimed that du Plessis and the rest of the middle weights make it the 'easiest weight class' in the UFC and claimed that the middleweight title holder 'sucks'.

Du Plessis, who is no stranger to fellow hunters, fans and experts who underestimate him, sent a strong message to the colleague title holder Muhammad.

Dricus Du Plessis would 'step on Belal's head' in potential battle

During a recent appearance on the Ariel Helwani show, Du Plessis did not kindly go to Muhammad's comments.

'Belal Muhammad, I can't even remember how he fights. Has he ever finished someone? “Asked du plessis.” I like how he behaves as if he has the chance to go until 185, the UFC will never let him. If he wants to do that, he would have to leave his belt, have to his belt Giving up, leaving until 185 and there is no way in which they give him an immediate title.

“So what makes him think … he didn't even defend his belt! He is absolutely better on Twitter than in fighting, that's for sure … That would be unfair … Did you see the size of him? What will he do? I couldn't believe he was 170 when I saw him … I step on his head and it's over. “

It wasn't long before Mohammed got the last word in recent messages to X.

“He can hardly walk without stumbling over his own feet, he doesn't touch me,” Muhammad posted. “I don't have to pick it up, I will just push him and he will fall, he has 2 left feet.”

Muhammad has plagued a move to 185 pounds as his teammate, Islam Makhachev, chooses to make the climb to the Welterweight Division. Muhammad and Makhachev were both sent away from a possible confrontation in various media performances.

Dricus Du Plessis still has a 'champion vs. champion 'fight on his radar

Despite the fiery rhetoric of Muhammad, Du Plessis has suggested a separate superfight between himself and UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira. After beating Strickland, Du Plessis Pereira shouted in a veiled post-fight message, and the two parties later verbally agreed to make a fight happen in a backstage interaction.

But in the meantime, Du Plessis will probably be confronted with undefeated competition Khamzat Chimaev for his next middleweight title defense. Chimaev recently beat the former rival of Du Plessis, Robert Whittaker, at UFC 308.

From this letter, Muhammad has not defended the title of Welterweight since he dethroned Leon Edwards on UFC 304 last July. Muhammad was supposed to return to UFC 310 against Shavkat Rakhmonov before he withdrew due to a health problem.

Although Muhammad's proposed 15 pound jump to face du plessis is not off the table, it is very unlikely that it will take place for their next fights. In the meantime, their beef is still in its infancy and things can hastily escalate.
