Dricus Du Plessis tapped one of the best friends of Khamzat Chimaev in the run -up to their rumor title fight.
Just over a year before he became UFC champion, Dricus du Plessis in South Africa was a middleweight candidate.
Du Plessis started his run in the Octagon on a perfect 3-0 and earned a place in the top-15 ranking where he met the best hunters in the world.
Robert Whittaker, Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland (twice) are just a few of the names on the CV of the South African, where Du Plessis almost loses on his way against Gold against Derek Brunson in what his last fight was with breathing disorders.
Du Plessis had a different septum that limited his oxygen intake to 8% through his nostrils, a handicap that almost cost him the fight with drones until UFC 282 in December 2022.
Till, a former UFC title challenger and famous training partner of middleweight Bogeyman Khamzat Chimaev, was a real threat to Du Plessis in the striking department. However, there was not the same threat on the ground.

Dricus Du Plessis came in the first minute to stop Darren
In the opening round of their fight, Du Plessis checked until the cage, threw bumps while the referee looked carefully. Until he persisted, he was fine because he ate punches out of this position.
Du Plessis spent a lot of energy to end until he hit him on the ground after scoring a Takedown.
Du Plessis took the back of Till, with the differential of the strike with 60 strikes for the South African and 0 for Till.
Until finally came up again, that success in the round with his strikes and soil and pound after a clambering.

Du Plessis breathed heavily in between the rounds with the fresher hunter, so that he was postponed on the feet. Until he pushed ahead while he landed on Du Plessis. Found a home for his left hand and then a knee, who used Du Plessis for a Takedown.
Until relatively quickly got up, work resumed a stationary target in the striking and a difficult du plessis.
'Still Knocks' survived the round with a late Takedown and saw the last framework of the fight.
Du Plessis traded with the striker on the feet in round 3 and was a +100 underdog on the live gambling lines just before he hit a banging Takedown until two minutes to go.
Du Plessis immediately grabbed the entire mountain, threw ground and bonk until he rolled to his back with Du Plessis fishing on a second -noded choke. Within 3 seconds after locking the entry, 'The Gorilla' was forced to tap.
#14-ranges at the time, this was the victory that confirmed the prospect as a legitimate top 10 community party.
Darren Till had been a frequent training partner of Khamzat Chimaev's for the matchup and helped 'Borz' helped in his striking while Chimaev gave him the hell in the joking department, just like Du Plessis did on UFC 282.
Chimaev and Till called themselves the 'Smesh Bros' when they worked together, the hunters form a pretty friendship inside and out of the gym.
Now that the UFC Middenweight Champion of the World, the 31-year-old would defend his title this summer against Tills former teammate Chimaev this summer, Du Plessis denies reports of injuries that could otherwise come to him from a potential fight.
