A top UFC Middleweight candidate is full for a shot at Drus du Plessis.
All eyes on 185 pounds will be at the UFC 319 pay-per-view in August, where Du Plessis is at stake his title against a man who is generally expected as his heaviest challenger so far, the undefeated Khamzat Chimaev.
Although Chimaev's crushing entry against Robert Whittaker left many in 2024 who crowned his title in Chicago, Du Plessis is not unknown to prove his opponents incorrectly and is confident on August 16.
If the South African succeeds in that goal, one of who fighting for the next shot on gold, he believes that he knows how to do what nobody has been able to do so far.
Caio Borralho breaks his way to victory against Dricus du Plessis
Caio Borralho supports Du Plessis to stay on UFC 319 in the middleweight. And after he has passed his own next obstacle, the No. 6 wants to have his own shot on 'Still Knocks'.
During a recent interview with MMA Today, 'The Natural' gave his potential fight with Du Plessis along the line and explained why he is sure that he is doing what Whittaker, Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland could not stand the South African.
“With Dricus I think people make a lot of mistakes with him because people do not control the distance and do not go for the lighter shots,” Borralho said.
“People try to kill him all the time and put all their strength and strength in their punches, then people get tired. He also gets tired, but he can work if he is tired.
“I would go more with Jabs, distance control, trying to hurt his arms a little more,” Borralho continued. “I would circling a lot in the Octagon and then I will find the right moment that he opens himself when he extends to hit and he walks forward to do two or three punches.
“I would find this opening to do a counter package or something and catch him if he doesn't wait. That's what I see. I can see him beating, but I can (also) see (also) go for five rounds of pure war.”
Caio Borralho will reduce the weight twice in three weeks to serve as UFC 319 Backup
When it comes to his wish to go against the winner of UFC 319, Borralho has a few upcoming options for stimulating his claim.
Firstly, Borralho is the backup of UFC 319 in case Du Plessis or Chimaev withdrew in late notification. And just a few weeks after cutting the pounds for that assignment in Chicago, the Brazilian will again hit the scale in France.
Borralho will UFC Paris Koppen against another competition whose winning form has placed him in the title shot hat, Nassourdine Imavov. The Frenchman raised his hope for a championship chance at UFC Saudi Arabia last February, where Imavov Adesanya eliminated.
Both men need a strong achievement in the victory in the Accor Arena on 6 September to ensure that they remain a different rising name in title conflicts after Reinier de Ridder Whittaker Beat at UFC Abu Dhabi last weekend.
