Dricus du Plessis writes off Israel Adesanya as title contender following knockout loss to Nassourdine Imavov 

After his shock loss against Nassourdine Imavov last weekend in UFC Saudi Aarabia, the time of Israel Adesanya at the top of the middleweight division can be over.

After a shortage of Dricus Du Plessis in their huge resorting competition at UFC 305, Israel Adesanya was booked to hire the rising competition, Nassourdine Imavov in UFC Saudi -Aarabia.

The former middleweight King was shockingly eliminated in the second round of their main event and after that it was called to retire after his third loss in a row.

Nevertheless, Adesanya claimed that he will be back, but will probably take a longer time away from fighting and it is unclear whether he will try again to climb back to the top of the division.

Dricus du Plessis writes down Israel Adesanya after recent Ko loss

On UFC 312 this weekend, Du Plessis will defend his 185 pound title against Sean Strickland in the main event in a heated Rematch.

Adesanya has a long history with both hunters and surprising after his recent Ko loss, he received some support from Strickland, who claimed that Adesanya has already proven his lasting inheritance in sport.

Nevertheless, Du Plessis has commented on Adesanya's recent friendship with Robert Whittaker who explains that they are now training together is because Adesanya will not make any other run to the top.

“I don't train with someone in the top 10. Fortunately for me, I just think it's a different dynamic for Rob and Izzy, now they will now wise trajectory, they will never fight each other again,” said the champion at The UFC 312 Media Day.

“Rob can, at his age, he can make another point for it, I think he has 100%still one point left. For Izzy I don't think there is still a title run, with all due respect, I think his estate has been cemented and there will always be, no matter how he feels, he can do, “he went on.

Du Plessis compares the position of Adesanya with Anderson Silva to career -end

'Still Knocks' Adesanya gave a lot of respect with his remark and further admitted that he believes that he is in the same category as consensus middleweight goat, Anderson Silva.

Towards the end of Silva's historic UFC career, he demonstrably kept fighting longer than he should have and lost seven fights of eight after losing the title.

“I have placed it in the same category as Anderson Silva at this stage of, loss as many fights as you want, you will always have your legacy. Anderson Silva after his reign was I don't care how often he lost, he was still my goat … I feel that Izzy is in that area, stupid fights here and there if you still have the passion. ”
