Dustin Poirier is getting closer to the last fight of his incredible 14-year-old UFC career who has seen him experienced experienced monumental highlights and lows.
After his failed title challenge against Islam Makhachev on UFC 302 last June, Poirier revealed that he probably only has one fight in his career.
Since then, Poirier has been called by people like Paddy Pimblett for his pension fight, but still has to decide who will be his last opponent.
Dustin Poirier was part of one of the strongest divisions in the UFC history, while he remained near the top of the lightweight division and it recently became much stronger with the addition of Ilia Topuria.

Dustin Poirier supports Ilia Topuria to immediately be offered lightweight title shot
It was recently surprisingly announced by UFC Boss, Dana White, which Topuria has left its featherweight title and will permanently go to 155 pounds.
The Spaniard has constantly plagued during a move to lightweight, because Topuria has continuously called Makhachev for a super fight while he was 145 pounds champions.
Nevertheless, Makhachev and his team do not want to fight against Topuria, because they believe that 'El Matador' needs a victory over a lightweight competition before he can receive a title shot and does not want to fight Makhachev against another 'small featherweight'.
This has caused a pretty disagreement between the teams, because the manager of Topuria has been returned and reminds them of how close Makhachev's first fight against Alexander Volkanovski was.
Poirier was one of the names that Topuria suggested by Makhachev and his team, despite the fact that Khabib Nurmagomedov believed that Poirier is 'ready'.
With 'The Diamond' will probably not argue against the 28-year-old before his last fight, he has admitted that he believes that Topuria deserves an immediate title shot against the Russian pound-for-pound number one, but has his reservations by his size .
“It is respectable and honorable to leave the belt so as not to keep the division where boys have worked so hard to get their chance on the title, he does it in the right way,” Poirier told MMA Fighting.
“Everyone says he is heavy and walks around heavy, but if he can make 145 pounds, I don't know how big he is because some of these light weights are enormous.
“With a man like him, leaving the belt and going up, finishing Max Holloway as he did, I would give him a tear to the lightweight title of the bat immediately,” Poirier continued.
Who could fight Dustin Poirier in his UFC pension fight?
After such an incredible UFC career that became him interim light weight champion and gave victories on the basis of Conor McGregor and the aforementioned, Max Holloway, there are not many options for 'The Diamond's' latest dance.
Initially, Poirier's first choice was a trilogy fight against Justin Gaethje with the two currently 1-1 after two incredible battles. Nevertheless, Gaethje recently booked a fight against Dan hooker.
A fight that has always been missed during his UFC official period is a scrap against Nate Diaz. Porier and Diaz have been aiming online for several years and it is a fight that would be completely logical for both.
Of course, the big stumbling block that Diaz no longer fights under the UFC banner, but he left for relatively good conditions, leaving the door slightly open before his return.
