Recently retired UFC legend Dustin Poirier wishes him to have demolished three different names before hanging the gloves.
Dustin Poirier's last UFC Hooray was a historical event last Saturday at UFC 318 in his native Louisiana. Poirier and Max Holloway completed their trilogy with an immediate classic on UFC 318, with Holloway, BMF title has been retained by a unanimous decision.
Poirier did not return his decision to retire after UFC 318, leaving his gloves ceremoniously in the middle of the Octagon, while the New Orleans crowd paid respect to the big of all time. Only a few days away from UFC 318, Poirier now has time to think about the highlights and lows of his career.

What is striking at the end of Poirier of his UFC career is the power of the schedule that he has passed on his rise to superstar. Poirier defeated the will of Conor McGregor (2x), Justin Gaethje, Eddie Alvarez and Holloway during his UFC official period.
In addition to his legendary victories, Poirier also fought moist quantities such as Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Charles Oliveira. Poirier does not regret the career much, but if he had the opportunity to rinse back, he would clash with one of the largest ever the Octagon.
In a recent performance on the Ariel Helwani show, Poirier was asked to name a few hunters that he wanted him to fight during his legendary career, and included two UFC Hall of Famers.
“When I grew up, I thought BJ Penn was the best lightweight ever,” said Poirier.
“BJ Penn in his prime, I am surprised and [Donald Cerrone] Never fought. Nate Diaz, it was of course a few times close. In addition, I fought the best of my era.
“I can lean back and say,” I fought the best guys in the world in my weight class. “
Despite the suffering of losses in 9 of his last 11 UFC fights, BJ Penn remains one of the greatest hunters in the history of promotion. Penn, during his Prime, moisture against all best contenders in multiple weight classes and was a dominant force during his lightweight title line.
Penn entered the UFC Hall of Fame in 2015 after a legendary career in the Octagon. He withdrew after a loss for Clay Guida on UFC 237.
Dustin Poirier confirmed pension decision on UFC 318
After his UFC shipping on Saturday, Poirier admitted that his decision to retire was the right one. In a recent appearance on the Bohnfire podcast, Poirier revealed that he was held a self-content approach to UFC 318 for the first time in his career.
Poirier's UFC 318 pension was almost demolished when Holloway dropped him twice in the opening round. Former UFC champion Aljamain Sterling later claimed that Holloway deliberately pulled his punches on Poirier.
One of Poirier's former rivals, Michael Johnson, wants to fight Holloway after their victories over UFC 318. From this writing, Holloway has not responded to Johnson's recent callout.
