Dustin Poirier is ‘shredded out of his mind’ after ‘easiest’ ever weight cut for UFC 318 retirement fight

Dustin Poirier looked better than ever on the scale prior to his last MMA fight.

'The Diamond' will call time on his legendary career after a final dance in his home Louisiana.

He will be on Saturday evening against BMF title holder Max Holloway in the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.

On Friday, the old rivals made weight with the 26 other hunters who would compete at UFC 318.

Dustin Poirier looks fragmented for UFC 318

Dustin Poirier was one of the first hunters of the scale when the two -hour scale opened.

The 36-year-old looked in fantastic form when he posed for photos after taking the 156 pounds of lightweight limit.

UFC commentator Paul Felder was particularly impressed by what Poirier looked like for his last fight.

“He now looks out of his head,” said the retired lightweight in the UFC 318-way show. “That is by far the best he has ever looked at the scale.”

Shortly thereafter, Poirier joined the conversation to talk about the 'easiest' weight saving of his 40-bolt career.

“This has been one of the smoothest fight weeks of my life,” he noticed.

“This was the easiest weight movement. I could easily have been 152 pounds here. I could have kept cutting the weight.

“I felt good. I came in Vechtweek the lightest I have ever come. It made a lot smoother all week, a lot easier.

'I could probably have had [made featherweight]. “
