Dustin Poirier makes surprising pick between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler in ‘desert island’ game

Dustin Poirier was surprisingly fast to answer which of his greatest rivals he would like to share a desert island.

Poirier maintains a bitter public fight with Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler, despite the fact that they both finished them in a decisive way the last time they fought. Chandler has branded 'The Diamond' a painful winner for the way he responded to their feud, while McGregor still feels that their beef is not completed.

In the meantime, Poirier is about to hang the gloves with a final fight, probably this summer in his native Louisiana. His opponent is still unknown, with rumors that sparkle around Max Holloway and Justin Gaethje for potential trilogies.

Dustin Poirier takes Michael Chandler above Conor McGregor in a comic game

During an appearance on the ESPN UFC 314 Pre-Fight Show in Miami, Dustin Poirier appeared next to UFC legends Daniel Cormier and Chael Sonnen. There he was asked during a segment with whom he would rather share a deserted island; Conor McGregor or Michael Chandler.

It is known that he hates both men, but soon answered “Chandler”. When Cormier stuck and asked if it could be a few friends, he said, “No, I just feel that he looks like a bear gryles -type, someone who is going to build a tent, he is going to fish and get our food. Conor just talks all the time.”

Sonnen and Cormier both seemed to think that that was an honest assessment, laughing at the idea that Poirier could become friends with both people at every stage. Daniel Cormier then joked that he would like to stay with his old rival Jon Jones so that he could kill and eat him.

Michael Chandler claims that he and Dustin Poirier may have friends

Despite how hostile Poirier stays in their long feud, Michael Chandler remains that the couple could ever become friends. He even joked that they might do a podcast together if everything in their career was said and done.

“We are friends, he just didn't admit it yet,” Chandler joked during an interview with Helen Yee. “It's really funny, there can be a documentary about how it started, how it goes and how it ends between me a poirier.

“I wish him nothing but best if this is his last fight if it is his next. I will be there, I hope it is in New Orleans, I want him to put the gloves down and pays my respect. Maybe if we don't compete, we can do some charity work together, maybe we do a reality show of podcast together!”
