Dustin Poirier receives tribute tattoo from UFC teammate after his latest win

'The Diamond' has become known in recent years for his love for one particular technique.

At the age of 36 with 39 fights under his belt, Dustin Poirier has his pension fight in view before he ends up an incredible career.

The former interim light weight champion has long trained on one of the most talented mats in sport at the American top team in Coconut Creek, Florida.

In recent years, this has trained with Chris Duncan from Scotland, who recently earned praise for Poirier for his last victory in London.

Duncan even partially credited Poirier for the victory after he had revealed that it was the guillotine choke technique of the fan favorite he used to submit Jordan Vucenic.

Chris Duncan brings tribute to Dustin Poirier with “Jump the Gilly” tattoo

Dustin Poirier has spoken a lot in recent years about his love for the Guillotine Choke and in particular jumping to try to secure it.

“Jumping the Gilly” can result in a quick entry if a hunter is able to wrap the neck of his opponent, but it is also a dangerous movement to try to pull off, because if it goes wrong, what it does quite often, you are now in the lower position.

Poirier threatened with many Guillotines during his time in the UFC, including a famous attempt against Khabib Nurmagomedov and his repeated jumps in his matchup with Benoit Saint-Denis.

Nevertheless, and the comments of his teammates about how dangerous he is in this position, the resident of Louisiana still has to take a career gain via Guillotine.

The same cannot be said for Chris Duncan, who has recovered from his submission loss to Manuel Torres with back-to-back guillotine choke victories.

As a tribute to his teammate to help him take these victories, Duncan recently honored Poirier and his love for the guillotine with a recent tattoo.

The new ink of the Scottish Lightweight was placed on Instagram by Rock'n'roll -Tattoo in Glasgow, where Duncan added his newest piece.

Chris Duncan continued to evolve during his time at the American top team

The time that Chris Duncan spent at the American top team clearly pays his fruit in his UFC career.

He first appeared on the Contender Series of Dana White in 2021, where the Brawler suffered a knockout loss to Vicheslav Borshchev.

Duncan returned to the series the following year, despite pressing Dana White and the win, it was his toughness and heart that made him a remarkable change against Charlie Campbell.

Since then 'the problem' has become a much better-rounded hunter with four UFC victories under his belt that have shown his improving grasp game in particular.
