Dustin Poirier retirement fight theory floated by UFC legend following recent nickname change

Henry Cejudo believes that he knows who Dustin Poirier will be confronted in his upcoming pension fight.

'The Diamond' did not fight and will be in the UFC 302 last June by lightweight Islam Makhachev on UFC 302.

Dustin Poirier retired before he confirmed that he will return for a last UFC fight.

A likely date and the 'incredible' location for the fight have been revealed, but it is currently unclear who will be compared to the 40-Fight veteran during his last scrap in the UFC Octagon.

Henry Cejudo calls Dustin Poirier's pension opponent

Poirier has been very clear that it is 'only' legends when he is looking for his last UFC opponent.

Coincidentally, Ilia Topura has changed his nickname to 'La Leyenda', which translates into 'The Legend'.

The former Feederweight Champion recently left its title to pursue glory in the lightweight division.

As far as Henry Cejudo is concerned, the weight and the name change Topuria make the leader to see Poirier.

“I see Ilia Topuria vs. Dustin Poirier,” said the former UFC champion with double weight on the Bohnfire podcast.

“Of course, when I think about it, Dustin Poirier said that he only fights legends for his pension fight, and Ilia Topuria has just changed his name to 'The Legend'.

“We are probably doing something.”

Dustin Poirier vs Max Holloway 3 leaked

Poirier's pension fight was 'leaked' in March by a UFC light weight competition.

Beneil Dariush believes that Max Holloway has already had that fight call. The 35-year-old ditched Poirier and Holloway as potential opponents for his next fight because they should clash in the near future.

“My understanding is that Dustin Poirier and Max Holloway will fight,” Dariush told Submission Radio.

“That's what I hear. I don't know if it is 100 percent sealed and ready, but that's what I hear.

It is almost a month since Dariush made those comments and there is still no official UFC update.

Fans will just have to wait and see if Poirier is facing Topuria, Holloway or someone else in his retirement.
