Dustin Poirier could throw away his usual national anthem for his UFC pension fight against Max Holloway.
The former UFC-Interim light weight champion has made the trip to the Octagon more than 30 times since his promotion debut in 2011. UFC 318 on July 19 will serve as the last fight of Poirier in the world's largest stage, a trilogy that comes to BMF champion Max Holloway in more ways.
On 2-0 on Holloway in their series spoiled Holloway's UFC debut on Featherweight in 2013 before he defeated him again nine years later in lightweight in a five-round war at UFC 236, where 'The Diamond' finally hit gold.
Dustin Poirier was the first opponent of Holloway in the UFC and now 'blessed' the favor returns by being his last.
It is a very special occasion for Poirier in New Orleans, who fights in his home state Louisiana-Die asks for a broadcast like no other.

Dustin Poirier says he would walk outside with Lil Wayne for a pension fight
Last summer at UFC 302 we almost saw Poirier retire after a hard -fought title match against champion Islam Makhachev.
Poirier did not leave New Jersey with the belt, but instead a lot of love, running to a much -requested mashup of Rihanna's 'Diamonds' sung by the late Willie Spence and 'The Boss' by James Brown, who has been synonymous with the hunter after the song sparked for so many years.
Poirier considered the same mashup for his pension fight before he completely introduced another Walk-out number with rapper Lil Wayne by his side.
“My first fight in the UFC, when I fought against Josh Grispi, I walked to Lil Wayne,” said Poirier on the Ariel Helwani show.
“If Lil Wayne were to walk me in New Orleans, I walk to Lil Wayne in my last flight.
“Switch to James Brown,” Poirier added.

Poirier went to 'The Boss' for countless UFC fights, willing to return the clock if he is accompanied by New Orleans Native Lil Wayne, the most famous rapper in the state with 13 studio albums and more than 100 million plates that are sold worldwide.
Once a guest on Wayne's podcast, Poirier says that he has not yet contacted the rapper about walking away with him at UFC 318.
If the stars are in line, Poirier only knows the song for the BMF title fight …
“I walked away in my debut against Josh Grispi [to] 'Drop the world', Poirier continued.
“So if he” drops the world, “I come to him in my last fight.
“When he sees this, save me Wayne,” said Poirier.
