Dustin Poirier is getting closer to the last fight of his incredible career in the UFC.
After another failed pursuit of the UFC light weight last June, Dustin Poirier decided that his next walk to the cage would be his last.
After he had lost from Islam Makhachev, Poirier was apparently on his way to retirement there and then took the time to make the decision that he would have one.
Since then, 'The Diamond' has constantly suggested his potential comeback opponent, which states that he would like to complete a trilogy with Justin Gaethje.

Dustin Poirier closes potential fight against Paddy Pimblett
Nevertheless, Justin Gaethje will unfortunately for Poirier and the fans will compete against Dan hooker in a guaranteed fight of the annual candidate fight on UFC 313.
And with that his fans continue to suggest potential opponents for Poirier in his last outing, with one popular suggestion Paddy Pimblett.
Paddy 'The Baddy' comes from the back of a career-best victory against Bobby Green last July at UFC 304 and finally cracked the top 15 of the lightweight rankings.
Because Poirier is still one of the biggest names in sport, it may be a way for the promotion to support the Brit and grow his name, knowing that 'the diamond' will retire.
However, Poirier apparently has different ideas and has shot the idea of a fight against Pimblett.
“You see, that is an interesting fight, but not for my pension fight, you know, it's just legends,” Poirier said in an interview with Jim Rome.
“No (I would not be willing to fight two more fights), I am ready, man. I have 50 IS battle. As I said, I still have something to give, there are many opportunities and some large battles that can be made, but I have done it for so long and I am in a place with my other companies that I want to be at home in A regular routine.
“I gave this sport a lot and I think I've given him enough,” he said.
Who could fight Dustin Poirier in his pension fight?
With the best choice of Poirier van Gaethje, who apparently is unable to happen, fans wonder who will fight the former interim light weight champion.
The 36-year-old remark about 'only legends' leaves him with many options, one of which could be Jim Miller.
'A-10' Miller continues to fight near the top of the lightweight division and retains various records at 155 pounds.
The two fought back in 2017 when Poirier took a majority decision, so there is already a history between the two legendary light weights.
