The Dutch FA (KNVB) has shared a cold -blooded reaction to the news of the former Eredivisie Club Vitesse that officially loses their professional license after a civil lawsuit.
The KNVB license committee withdrew the professional license from Vitesse after the club had systematically bypassed the license system and undermined for a long time, despite previous obligations that this would no longer happen. “
Vitesse decided to combat the decision in the civil court, where a judge would determine whether the decision of the KNVB was taken correctly. The judgment was published a day after the summary procedure and fell to the advantage of the KNVB, whereby the judge stated that the decision of the KNVB was regrettable but justified according to the licensing rules of the association.
'Painfully clear when a club does not suffice'
The KNVB shared a cold -blooded response to Friday's news in a statement on the website of the football club.
“It has become painfully clear how important the impact can be when a club systematically does not meet the licensing system,” the KNVB opened.
“The loss of the license of a professional football club is a drastic measure, not only for the club itself, but also for fans, sponsors, partners, employees and all others directly or indirectly involved in Vitesse. We understand very well that this is painful and a very difficult time for them.”

The KNVB will continue to emphasize the importance of the license rules and support the decision of the court.
“Het is belangrijk om te benadrukken dat de clubs, samen met de KNVB, regels hebben opgesteld om de integriteit en continuïteit van de professionele voetbalcompetities te garanderen. Deze regels worden gevolgd door de Independent Licensing Committee en de Licensing Appeals Committee. We ondersteunen (de beslissingen van) deze commissies, en de rechtbank heeft ook geregeerd dat er geen reden is om de beslissingen van deze bodies to suspend. “

The KNVB will be available for Vitesse in case the club wants to discuss their future with the association. “In the coming period will reveal how things will continue with Vitesse. If desired, the KNVB Vitesse will discuss this issue.”
The statement is concluded with a sincere message to the supporters of the second oldest professional club in the Netherlands, which will probably cease to exist after 133 years.
“We wish everyone who supports the power of Vitesse in the coming period.”
