In a recent Instagram post, Rogan highlighted Jones' post-fight dance just feet away from US President-elect Donald Trump.

“Highlight of the evening: [Jon Jones] with the KO win followed by the Trump dance,” Rogan posted.

Jones and Trump on the Octagon side shared a brief post-fight conversation following his victory at UFC 309. Trump, an avid UFC fan, will return to the White House after winning the 2024 US presidential election in an electoral college landslide.

Trump received a thunderous ovation when he arrived at Madison Square Garden with several Cabinet nominees, including business magnate Elon Musk. UFC CEO Dana White and Trump share a friendship that spans more than two decades.

Jones returned to the Octagon for the first time since defeating Ciryl Gane for the vacant heavyweight title at UFC 285. He was set to face Miocic at UFC 295 last year before withdrawing due to injury, resulting in an interim title booking at the latter second between Tom Aspinall and Sergei Pavlovich.

After previously teasing his retirement after UFC 309, Jones has backed down on that stance and expressed his desire for at least one more superfight. Aspinall, who starred as a backup for UFC 309, is the most logical option for Jones' next fight. He and Jones have traded barbs for months, with Aspinall declining to defend the interim title for a second time after defeating Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304.

Jones, White and the UFC matchmakers will enter contract negotiations in hopes of extending the legend's promotional tenure. If Jones' desired price tag isn't met, UFC 309 could be the last time fight fans see him compete in the Octagon.

For now, the aftermath of UFC 309 is still fresh and post-fight contract talks are set to begin this week. As for Rogan, he's seen it all in the Octagon during his broadcast career, and Jones' nod to the president-elect capped off an epic night in New York City.
