Ed Sheeran admitted that he had drunk 10 pints of alcohol before he became famous Gatecrashing by Ruben Amorim's very first post-match interview as Manchester United manager.
Amorim was interviewed by Sky Sports after United in his first game, five months ago was held to a 1-1 draw by Ipswich.
Pop Megastar Sheeran, a fan of Ipswich who sponsors the club's kit and possesses a minority interest in the club of 1.4 percent, then came by to greet expert Jamie Redknapp while the Portuguese coach was deep in his interview.
A frustrated Amorim was clearly not impressed by the interruption when he shook his head in disapproval while Sheeran Redknapp embraced with a bright smile on his face.
And now Sheeran his executive box – which is dressed with alcohol – is why the notorious uncomfortable moment took place.
“I had stripped it and got into a pub, you don't have to go anywhere else for pre-drinks,” Sheeran told the podcast Men in Blazer's podcast. “And it has certainly put me in trouble.
'Like this [Manchester] United game where I did not realize [Ruben] Amorim was interviewed. I really didn't do it.
'Jamie [Redknapp] Said came and see me afterwards and I wandered away then. I had about 10 pints, saw Jamie, so I had something like “Oh, I'm going upstairs and say hello to Jamie”.
“It was the wrong moment – very clearly the wrong time – but I learned my lesson and it won't happen anymore.”
On the fateful day, Sheeran had come to greet Redknapp and said, “I don't think he (Amorim) wants to talk to me.”
The united head coach remained aloof, with Sheeran and added: I like to be back in the Premier League. '
In the five months that have passed, Amorim has endured an extremely difficult time in the United Hot-Seat.
With nine Premier League matches, the Red Devils are in 13th place, while they have lost eight league matches under the Portuguese head coach.
In the meantime, Sheeran's Ipswich seems to be destined for the drop. The tractor boys are nine points of safety and have not won no competition match in 2025.
The inverted fixture between the two parties, which took place in February, saw a 10-men association from behind to Rand a five-goal Thriller.
